Importance of Choosing a General Contractor Early in the New Home/Remodel Process

• Lot/ Land Selection

  • Advisable to have a general contractor review lot with home owner

  • Determine homeowner wants & needs

  • Feasibility of building wants & needs on a particular lot

  • Review lot limitations

  • Review special needs & associated costs

 

• Designing a Home for the Lot

  • Story Design and Construction, Inc. will meet with homeowners, designer, and civil engineer to provide professional input

 

• Bid Process

  • To assist in the bidding process choosing materials

Our Warranty

​

• Workmanship (4 year warranty)

  • A licensed contractor is required to give a warranty on items installed under his /her license to be free from defective installation including, but not limited to the local codes and manufacturer’s installation requirements for up to four years after the completion of a job.

 

• Structural Defects (10 year warranty)

  • A licensed contractor and/or the engineer on record is required to provide a warranty on certain engineered components that they are to be free from engineering defects, miscalculation or omissions.
